Weather

Ember integrates real-time weather forecasts directly onto your contact cards using WeatherAPI.

Knowing the current weather at a contact's location offers a warm conversation starter before you reach out.

Add a weather address to a contact

  1. Open the contact details page with the Weather card.
  2. Tap the pencil icon on the Weather card to open the Weather Address sheet.
  3. Start typing their city or area. Ember utilizes autocomplete (powered by Geoapify and OpenStreetMap) to suggest locations.
  4. Select the correct location from the autocomplete list and tap Save.

Read the weather card

  1. Navigate to the contact's detail page. If a weather address is set, the Weather card will display.
  2. View the current temperature alongside the weather condition (e.g. Sunny, Cloudy, Rain, or Thunderstorm).

Navigate to the contact's detail page. If a weather address is set, the Weather card will display.

Choose the temperature unit

  1. Open a contact who has a weather address, then tap the settings (gear) icon on their Weather card to open Weather Settings.
  2. Find the Temperature unit row.
  3. Select either Celsius (°C) or Fahrenheit (°F) to set your preference.

Choose how times are shown on weather cards and widgets.
Open a contact who has a weather address, then tap the settings (gear) icon on their Weather card to open Weather Settings.

Why is the weather card not showing up?

Make sure you have entered and selected a valid location in the Weather Address field for that contact.

Does Ember track my contact’s live GPS coordinates?

No. Ember only displays the weather for the static address you manually save in their profile.
